Welcome! (NEW site with NEW offerings)

Updated: Jul 28, 2021

I am so thrilled to have you at my new page and blog space. Below I explain my own health history and what lead me to health coaching specifically.

My journey to wellness has been a passionate one. Specifically, it has been crucial in allowing me to live an energized life in the fashion industry for the last 11 years. I studied at IIN (Institute of Integrative Nutrition) in New York city whilst I was full time modeling in order to gain more insight into health and nutrition and healthy lifestyle practices. I have always been an avid researcher when it comes to nutrition and I am truly passionate about getting to the root of health issues, which means not ignoring the emotional, mental and spiritual elements also. I will write more blog posts about my journey with these more specifically.

“This has been by far the most scary and challenging moment in my life so far and I am proud I was able to coach, research and nurture my way back to health”

For those who'd like to get to know me a bit better, I am from Perth, Western Australia. It was here where my parents raised me and guided me toward good health from a young age. My Mum forbid me to eat sugar — anything processed — but, as a child, still I found ways to get my hands on the nastier stuff. Despite my good fortune, and knowing health fads before they became fads, I easily fell sick, particularly with stomachaches, while also suffering from a constantly compromised immune system.

My primary school friends will vouch that I could catch the flu at the drop of a hat, and develop inexplicable stomachaches at sleepovers (from which I would often leave because I was experiencing so much pain). It began to inhibit my freedom and limited the activities I felt I could take part in with the others kids.

I was admitted to the hospital with chronic appendicitis at about 14 years old, my body pumped full of any antibiotic imaginable, in an effort to to save me from septicemia or blood poisoning.

A few years later I was admitted again, this time with glandular fever (or ‘mono’), and I realized this was my next huge wake-up call, the time to ensure my body was strong enough to withstand this world. As a highly sensitive individual, I wasn’t sure how I was going to stay fit and healthy for the impending travel and adventures that lay ahead.

3 years ago I had another health issue crop up, this time pertaining to urinary issues to which antibiotics seemed to be the only answer. I was prescribed a fluoroquinolone and suffered the reaction that is warned about on the 'black box warning' - tendon damage, peripheral neuropathy, autonomic nervous system disturbances and spontaneous panic attacks. I was in wheelchair for a short while, unable to walk nor stand without excruciating pain. In came my next journey to health and most humbling experience thus far (prior to this I was extremely active and did many fitness modeling jobs). This has been by far the most scary and challenging moment in my life so far and I am proud I was able to coach, research and nurture my way back to health.

It's safe to say that my healing journey has had it's ups and downs but I have overcome every single one of them and am grateful for the knowledge and power they gave me to take my health and wellbeing into my own hands. Ultimately, we must take the riegns of our own wellbeing and to me, there is NO better investment than in ones own health. If we don't invest in it now, we will have to invest MORE into it at a later date when it could be far more challenging.

Please visit my site to see my NEW offerings, including health coaching, holowave energetics and emotion code sessions and packages. Please book in a FREE 15 minute consultation to discuss if we are a good fit working together. You can also add a Healy frequency scan to any consultation.

xCJ
